Description

Make healthier homemade Milky Way bars perfect for Halloween! This dairy-free recipe uses simple ingredients to create delicious candy bars without refined sugar, plus the easy nougat and caramel both require zero cooking for an easy chocolate bar treat!

Ingredients

Scale

No-Cook “Nougat”

Dairy-Free Caramel

  • 1/4 cup (65g) almond butter
  • 1/2 cup (160g) maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup  (80g) coconut oil, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Chocolate Coating

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, process the dates with the coconut milk. Add the flour and salt, and process briefly until combined and dough-like.
  2. Press into a lined pan (approximately 9×5”). Set aside.
  3. Whisk together the caramel ingredients until smooth and creamy. Pour on top of the nougat layer and smooth.
  4. Refrigerate overnight.
  5. Slice into 16 bars. Freeze for 30 minutes while you melt the chocolate.
  6. Melt the chocolate chips with the coconut oil (60-90 seconds on high). Stir until smooth.
  7. Carefully dip/drizzle each bar to fully coat. You want to work quickly before the caramel layer begins to soften.
  8. Allow the chocolate to fully set in the fridge (about 30 minutes).
